PEAK Sinfonia: “One of the rare truly outstanding all-round loudspeakers” – hi-fi+

In its review published on 20 October 2026, the British high-end audio magazine hi-fi+ takes an in-depth look at the PEAK Sinfonia. Reviewer Steve Dickinson is particularly impressed by the Danish three-way floorstanding loudspeaker’s exceptional tonal accuracy, natural musical reproduction and ability to combine impressive dynamic scale with remarkable delicacy and refinement.

The Sinfonia tested is the latest, extensively revised version, featuring an improved midrange driver and a redesigned crossover. Its elaborate cabinet construction, with walls approximately 50 mm thick, and the separately housed, sand-damped crossover contribute to an exceptionally quiet acoustic foundation.

During the listening sessions, Dickinson is struck by the Sinfonia’s ability to reproduce large-scale musical performances with authority and effortless dynamics while retaining the intimacy and subtlety of much smaller loudspeakers. Despite its substantial dimensions and weight, the Sinfonia virtually disappears acoustically, creating a deep, wide and remarkably stable soundstage.

What impresses the reviewer most, however, is the extraordinary authenticity of instrumental timbres and voices. The Sinfonia reproduces harmonic structures, tonal colours and musical pitch with exceptional precision, revealing nuances and relationships within recordings that often remain hidden.

Listening to Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Dickinson finds himself rediscovering the entire album, fascinated by its previously unnoticed layers of musical detail and melodic structure. Classical works by Shostakovich and Prokofiev demonstrate the loudspeaker’s ability to unravel complex orchestral passages without sacrificing their emotional impact, power or subtlety.

Particularly noteworthy is the way the Sinfonia presents musical information. Rather than emphasising individual details for effect, it reveals how each element contributes to the overall performance. Complex arrangements become easier to follow, while the natural flow and emotional expression of the music remain entirely intact.

Test conclusion

Steve Dickinson’s enthusiasm culminates in an exceptionally positive assessment. He praises the Sinfonia not simply for its remarkable resolution, but for the way it combines tonal authenticity, rhythmic precision, spatial realism and effortless dynamics into a coherent and deeply engaging musical experience.

His final verdict leaves little doubt about the Sinfonia’s exceptional standing among high-end loudspeakers:

“There are disappointingly few all-round great loudspeakers in this game, but I have a feeling I may just have found one.”
