Q Acoustics 3040c: lite-magazin.de attests to its “excellent value for money

At the end of August 2026, lite-magazin.de reviews the compact Q Acoustics 3040c floorstanding speaker and, in addition to top marks, awards it its “Preistipp” (“price recommendation”) distinction:

“Vanessa Fernandez’s ‘Use Me’ gets things started [in the listening test] – an upbeat song that immediately conveys plenty of energy. The 3040c responds with remarkable speed and an impulsive power that you would not necessarily expect at first from such a slim cabinet. At the same time, a coherent soundstage forms between the speakers. This already works convincingly at low listening levels. Turn up the volume and the soundstage noticeably expands in width and gains scale without losing its sense of order. In the deepest bass, however, the 3040c deliberately remains restrained. Yet this is less a weakness than a sensible tuning choice: there is plenty of low-frequency energy, only the very last descent into the bass basement is missing. And that is exactly what I like. Small speakers can initially impress with exaggerated deep-bass simulation, but after a short while this can become fatiguing. The 3040c does not go down that route. Instead, it plays with freshness, openness and energy, provides sufficient foundation and maintains control throughout. This also makes extended listening sessions relaxing.

Some competing models respond with an inflated lower-frequency range that, after only a few minutes, becomes more tiring than exciting. The 3040c, by contrast, remains composed. From a distance of just under three metres, I occasionally measure 84 decibels myself – well above normal room-listening levels. And yet the reproduction remains clean and free from intrusive booming. […]

When I select Rex The Dog’s ‘Vortex’ from the playlist, the demands change completely. The electronically produced track is packed with transients, dense synthesizer layers and powerful bass lines. In other words, exactly the kind of material on which a floorstanding speaker has to prove its control. In this context: the 3040c is certainly not the best speaker in the world – but it is definitely one of the best in its price and size class. It therefore handles this challenge with surprising confidence as well. The synth layers create a broad wall of sound that fills the listening room effectively. […]

Another indication of the intelligent yet restrained tuning in the bass range: the Q Acoustics pair delivers power exactly where it can also keep it under control. Musically, it remains clean at all times and retains a clear overview even at high tempos. Even under sustained load, there are no signs of fatigue. Quite the opposite: my review guests perform consistently – assured, controlled and pleasingly composed right through to the end.
