“On Diana Krall’s The Look Of Love on vinyl, the EPOS ES-7N prove to be champions of an acoustic realism that is remarkable for this price range. The sound image appears mature and authentic, which is also evident in the reproduction of Diana’s voice: fine and detailed, the two EPOS speakers extract a great deal from the source material. The soundstage is cleanly structured in both width and depth, and the instruments are integrated with proper balance. The tweeter, notably, performs with great freedom and confidence, offering excellent transparency and a natural level of brilliance. This also benefits the presentation of the piano, whose tonal “temperature” is extremely well captured for a pair of speakers priced under €2,000. The build-up of the track unfolds smoothly, with the EPOS ES-7N quickly and carefully capturing nearly all newly added sonic nuances. Dynamic shifts feel real and immediate, and the drivers for mid/bass and treble reproduction show no tendency toward unwanted resonance even at higher volumes, which consistently preserves precision. The precisely rendered spatial effects create an intense listening experience.
